He or she will probably prescribe a\nspecial antibiotic mouthwash to help control the infection that started the\nproblem in the first place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The situation becomes more\ninvolved if tooth loss has occurred. Your dentist may address the problem with\ncrowns, bridgework, dentures, or implants. It\u2019s important to know that even one\nmissing tooth is cause for concern. Your teeth work as a single unit; when one\nis missing, the others around it are subjected to unnatural bilateral stress.\nThis can cause further tooth loss and, ultimately, jaw bone erosion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Does Dental Insurance Cover Treatment for Gum Disease?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Most plans do cover a portion\nof the treatment costs. The degree of coverage varies from one plan to the\nnext. Contact your insurance representative or the human resources specialist\nat your place of employment to learn more. The staff at your dentist\u2019s office\ncan also tell you whether treatment is covered by your policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many dentists offer alternative\nways to pay for gum disease treatment. Possible options include private\nfinancing from a lender or personalized payment plans set up by the practice\nitself.
